Patrick Hannigan was born in Harrisburg Pennsylvania on August 31, 1990. He attended the Holy Name of Jesus grade school, Bishop McDevitt High School, and the University of Pittsburgh. Patrick was employed at MBS Solutions as an accounts manager at the time of his death. He had joined the firm in September, 2013 and immensely enjoyed both his work in staffing as well as his coworkers.
Patrick enjoyed playing and watching sports but, most of all, he liked to be around people. Patrick had a unique personality and a winning smile. He could relate to all types of people. It did not matter whether you where rich or poor, black or white. All that mattered to Patrick was the person inside. He could sit down and have a serious conversation with you or he could joke and socialize with you. But most importantly, if you had any problem he would always be there for you. Many of the comments posted on his Facebook page were from people thanking him for his assistance and his friendship.
While at college, Patrick became involved with drugs and developed the disease of addiction. He left college the 2nd semester of his senior year to enter into rehab to learn how to control his disease. He remained clean for almost a year. Then, unknown to his family and friends, he relapsed and died from a drug overdose on April 15, 2014.
Patrick was only 23 years old. This tournament is to not only to honor Patrick but to raise funds to help others affected by this disease and to try to help them overcome their addiction. The Patrick Hannigan Foundation has been established to administer the proceeds from the tournament.
Patrick’s family would like to extend their appreciation to MBS Solutions for their unwavering support of Patrick prior to his death and their efforts in founding the Foundation and Memorial Golf Tournament since then. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
